Friday's Frilly Finds- Finding Fall in Vermont

finding fall in vermont.jpeg

This photo was taken in the Southern Vermont Countryside just around the bend in Bennington. Where we pretty much found the most gorgeous Fall colors! It looked like a picture perfect postcard here. If you’re planning a trip during Fall I highly recommend driving this route for picturesque mountain views, colorful foliage and a gorgeous apple orchard and barn. So how do you find it…

From the town of Bennington you’ll want to head south down monument avenue, heading towards carpenter hill road. It’s maybe a 10-15 minute drive. Turn down carpenter hill and follow it down to north pownal road and back up route 7. This area is known as the shires of Vermont Byway. And it is really beautiful! We thoroughly enjoyed driving the BMW X3 around the windy mountain roads, and were actually quite impressed with how the car handled-and no this is not an ad! We just really were impressed!

You’ll also really want to see the Old First Church which you will pass on monumental avenue. There’s some epic foliage lining the white picket fence there and it is where Robert Frost is buried.

Continue your adventures on the winding back roads to the Henry Covered bridge (this is the best one for photographing typically). You’ll find it near where River Road and Murphy Road intersect. My recommendation…with spotty mountain road cell service, ask for a map from your innkeeper or hotel concierge. This was actually really helpful! I can’t wait to plan our next trip. More on where to stay and dine while in Bennington to come here!
