Don’t you just love it when you revisit something you once loved and just wonder why did I ever stop loving that, doing that, using that, or wearing that? My re-discovery for a fashion brand I started wearing right out of college, and again now as a 33 year old woman is what has provoked that feeling in me and hence today’s blog topic. It’s fun falling in love with something all over again isn’t it?
So I started dressing in Antonio Melani primarily for my new and improved professional, sophisticated wardrobe right after college. I was transitioning into a new phase of life and womanhood and felt my closet needed a refreshed, more mature but still feminine and pretty updating.
One of the things that made this brand so appealing was the price point for the quality. Most everything was under $200 (which fit my college grad budget), and still remains true to this day, which is a huge win for me. A decade later they’re still designing quality, pretty pieces and have expanded their styles from just the fitted pencil skirt, and slim silhouette dress, to trending two piece sets, jumpsuits, on trend wide leg pants, gorgeous maxi dresses, puff sleeve tops and cute rompers like the one I am wearing here today (now on major sale under $100 too!!). Not saying you still can’t find a pretty pencil skirt or sophisticated slimming dress that any put together professional woman would love, because you absolutely can; The styles have just received a modern refresh while still incorporating timeless, classic patterns and design.
For me, they do dainty, floral and romantic very well, while still resembling a chic, modern woman with effortless style and taste. Why on earth did I ever stop shopping/wearing this brand right?! In reflecting, I think the space (fashion) just became super saturated and competitive, and with new brands arising, you can easily find your brand gets lost in the shuffle. I was excited to see the brand begin to partner with some influencers like Born on Fifth, to create capsule collections as I think this really is such a smart and secure way to keep your brand in front of the right audience, and on top of mind. Digital influencer marketing is no longer the way of the future, it is the now (in my opinion). Who knows, maybe one day there will be a Frapps & Frills capsule collection with them (just going to put that into the universe!!).
Another thing that made them easy to shop back in the day was that they’re sold at Dillard’s and where I grew up there was a Dillard’s just 15 minutes away! Now I primarily order on-line because their sizing is pretty true to size so once I knew that I was a 2 in their dresses, its been like that for all of the other pieces I’ve ordered (pants, skirts, tops, etc).
To wrap this up today, I feel like if you’re looking for clothing that you can wear to wineries and picnics with your husband on Friday’s, over to meet the parents on Saturdays, headed to church then Brunch on Sundays, and back to the office on Mondays and you just want to feel polished and beautiful at the same time, then Antonio Melani is a brand you will love. I easily find myself gravitating towards their pieces because I find them to be full of romance and femininity with elevated, modern fits that just make you feel ready to take on the occasion no matter what that occasion might be.
