I know with this crazy Winter weather the south has been getting right now, is making us all crave Spring just a little bit more. And while spring is definitely ahead, we still have several more weeks to a month of Winter to get through depending on where you live! So I thought it would be fun today to share 4 creative ways you can easily start dressing for Spring when it’s still cold outside. I’ve been adapting these little tactics into my daily wardrobe at home and it’s got my mind feeling happy like it’s Spring and sunny out, even though its still really not. So without further ado….
1. Cheery Bright skirts & sweaters
By simply pairing a bright and happy floral skirt with a cozy, soft sweater, I’m feeling like I’m looking like Spring and mentally am that much closer to the change in season. All I did was find a colorful, patterned skirt that I loved and then pulled out one of the colors from the skirt with a matching solid sweater. Now I’m still cozy and warm up top and on the bottom I’m twirling into the next season. You could create a similar look by doing opposite of this combo- meaning start with a solid neutral skirt and a pastel floral blouse or sweater. Pair the look with booties or ballet flats depending on just how chilly it really is out there!

2. Floral cardigans and cozy pastel pants
Alright, next up it’s Floral Cardigans and cozy pants (in shades of pastels). While we might not be able to wear our favorite floral swimsuits just yet, this is another way you can trick yourself into feeling like you’ve got a little more Spring in your life already. Just add pretty pastel florals into your cardigan, through embroidered details like this feminine one I am wearing. I layered it over a light monochromatic sweater for warmth and some cozy matching lavender pants.
I’ve linked this look here as well as some other floral cardigan choices because there are so many cute ones currently!
3. Pastel palettes in leggings and soft sweaters
It’s all about color!! It always has been and always will be in my mind. Adding color into your wardrobe is an instant mood booster! Start with softer hues of pastels in things like your leggings, instead of basic old black. Pair with neutral, cozy and feminine sweaters like this heart embroidered one I’m wearing, and you’re sure to feel cute, confident, comfortable and like Spring is just around the river bend!

4. Embrace the Pink Shacket
Not going to lie, it took me a while to cave into this “shacket” (shirt+jacket) trend. If done right though, it can really be cute and still cozy and warm. I went with an oversizes pink with lavender plaids, because again its all about the colors. I feel warm and fashionable wearing it just even around the house at work while it’s raining and freezing out. It’s still sunny in my mind…my clothes told me so!
