Now that it’s officially Sweater weather season in North Carolina, I am doing all the things! You know? All the things you have to do when the crisp Autumn air rolls in and the scent of cinnamon and sight of pumpkins surround you everywhere you go. All my Fall lovers know its so much more than sipping that pumpkin spice latte. It’s the festivities, the fashion, the decorating and everything that goes along with that first sip that gets us so excited. So when the leaves start to change and the cool air rushes in, there are certain “must do’s” each season and I’m sharing one of those here with you today. My NC locals and visitors will appreciate this one.
Pumpkin and Mum shopping! But do it local!! I can’t stress this enough. I know all the hardware and grocery stores get a selection in but there’s nothing like going to a fresh pumpkin patch and flower farm for all your Fall decorating goods. DJs Berry Patch in Apex NC (photographed below) has a great selection of all different and traditional kinds of pumpkins as well as some tasty fresh produce. We love going here in the Summer for our strawberries too!
For a super cute photo opp and a huge selection of Mums in all sizes and colors (even a peachy pink), I’ve discovered Need More Farms (photographed below) has the best selection. It’s worth the extra 15 minute drive to Fuquay-Varina and their staff is really friendly too! They also have a ton of pumpkins, even some blush pink hued ones! I can’t wait to go back and check them out at Christmas time.
